R. Christopher Whalen is a former investment banker, analyst and author. 

He is Chairman of Whalen Global Advisors LLC and works as a consultant and analyst focused on the financial services, mortgage finance and related technology companies. From 2014 through 2017, Christopher was Senior Managing Director and Head of Research at Kroll Bond Rating Agency, where he was responsible for the firm’s Financial Institutions Group. 

Over the past three decades, Chris has worked in Washington and on Wall Street, including organizations such as Bear, Stearns & Co., Prudential Securities, Tangent Capital Partners and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. 

He was a co-founder and principal of Institutional Risk Analytics from 2003 through 2013, when Total Bank Solutions acquired the firm. 

Christopher’s latest book is entitled Ford Men: From Inspiration to Enterprise. He also co-authored Financial Stability: Fraud, Confidence & the Wealth of Nations with veteran attorney Frederick Feldkamp in 2014 and wrote Inflated: How Money and Debt Built the American Dream in 2010.

Chris is a member of the board of directors of the Global Interdependence Center in Philadelphia and a member of the board of directors of Weiss Residential Research. He previously served as a fellow of Networks Financial Institute at Indiana State University and as a member of the Finance Department Advisory Council at the Villanova School of Business.
