Join us in Vancouver as we discuss and debate the most unique and profitable investment trends and ideas of our time with the world’s smartest minds in finance, investment research, economics, geopolitical analysis, and natural resources…
This Year's Theme...
Fairmont Hotel Vancouver • Vancouver, BC, Canada
JULY 23-26, 2013

The broad range of insightful speakers, actionable investment ideas, opportunities to network with some of the savviest investors from across the globe, and the chance to meet with executives from companies representing some of the best potential investments in their respective sectors are just a few of the reasons to attend. You will hear the kinds of ideas that separate successful investors from the rest. The Symposium is truly unlike any other investment conference in the world. It has quickly become one of the most sought-after tickets in the investment community.
I assure you it is the one event not to be missed this year, but don’t take my word for it…
Here are a few comments from past Symposium attendees:
“I enjoyed the exposure to some of the best thinkers in the investment world.” — Pablo C.
“Tremendous speakers overall… the diversity of speakers, and areas of expertise — keep it up!” — Bob S.
“The most incredible depth of speakers & breadth of topics… very well organized and run.” — James D.
“A fire hose of great information.” — Geoff G.
A LEGACY OF GREAT SPEAKERS…

Because of the Symposium’s reputation as a leading investment research conference, we’ve previously attracted renowned international speakers such as…
- Publisher Steve Forbes
- Best-Selling author and economic historian Niall Ferguson
- Legendary fund manager Dr. Marc Faber
- Former U.S. Comptroller General David Walker
- Investing legend Jim Rogers
- Best-selling authors Nassim Nicholas Taleb, James Howard Kunstler and Mark Skousen
- Visionaries such as Juan Enriquez, Dr. Michael West, Vitaliy Katsenelson, and others spanning a wide range of investment topics.
This year, we’ve already got a stellar lineup of world-class speakers. We’ll be announcing the event theme and speaker lineup in just a few weeks… Here’s just a partial list of some of the speakers in what is the strongest invitation list we’ve ever compiled, with many announcements still to come…
OUR 2013 SYMPOSIUM FACULTY
Three-time New York Times best-selling author, award-winning documentary filmmaker and Agora Financial executive publisher Addison Wiggin will again host this year’s Symposium. With the release of his most recent book, The Little Book of the Shrinking Dollar, and fresh off a one-year hiatus from the Symposium, he is sure to come out swinging. Addison will share his new, unique, and always interesting perspective on the current economic, financial… and, reluctantly, political situations.
Making his first appearance at the Symposium in Vancouver, Chris Anderson is the most forward-looking and articulate speaker about the effect of new technology on business. As editor-in-chief of Wired, Chris led the magazine to two dozen National Magazine Award nominations, winning the prestigious top prize for General Excellence in 2005, 2007 and 2009. Chris stepped down from his role at Wired after an incredibly successful 12-year run to become CEO of 3D Robotics.
Now, in his newest book, Makers, Chris unfolds for us the latest chapter in the digital revolution: a physical revolution.
Makers: The New Industrial Revolution introduces a new era of micro-manufacturing. New technologies such as 3-D printing and electronics assembly allow anyone with an idea to build it. Data can become objects — and everyone nowadays has access to data. This means the extraordinary democratization of information the Internet has enabled is about to be mirrored by the democratization of physical creation. In Chris’ phrase, “Atoms are the new bits.”
Chris isn’t sitting on the sidelines of this revolution. He is the founder of DIY Drones, an open source community with 12,000 people and three factories around the world. Chris has also founded 3D Robotics, a robotic manufacturing company that began as a GeekDad hobby with his children. You won’t want to miss his ideas on what the future holds for business.
Again this year, a legend returns to Vancouver. “Hilarious,” “energetic” and “passionate” were words used to describe Dr. Marcio Mello’s top-ranked presentation. Marcio is ready to show you the latest cutting-edge oil exploration and extraction technologies, geological research, and resource investment opportunities. This Brazilian oil industry legend founded one of the largest oil field discoveries in 40 years, and now following his firm HRT’s successful IPO... hang on tight... Marcio is back!
We also welcome back to the Symposium, Brad Farquhar, co-founder of Assiniboia Capital, the largest farmland investment management company in Canada. Brad will show you how to successfully invest in the No. 1 inflation-beating asset of the rich and famous. It’s an asset that entertainers like Jon Bon Jovi and Julia Roberts own… along with investors like Warren Buffett and Bill Gates. He’ll show you a surprisingly simple way to own this asset too. He’s also working on some unique projects in parts of the world that many people couldn’t even find on a map.
Jeffrey Tucker, executive editor of Laissez Faire Books, will storm the Vancouver podium one more time. Jeff’s set to share with you his latest ideas for keeping Big Government out of your life. Jeff’s ideas on free market capitalism and liberty make him one of the most influential leaders of the libertarian movement. If you’ve ever had the chance to meet this well-dressed, bow tie-wearing fellow, then you can understand that Jeffrey is not a man that follows the herd. His ideas flow in rapid-fire fashion. He will share many of them with you in Vancouver.
Symposium first-timer Neil George is the editor of Lifetime Income Report and Total Income Alert — investment advisories dedicated to finding Wall Street’s best yields. Before joining Agora Financial, Neil was the editor of Personal Finance and oversaw investment journals in the United States, Germany, and other countries. He’s been featured by The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, Bloomberg, CNN, NBC, CBS, and more. His two-decade career has taken him to six continents and includes senior positions at Merrill Lynch International Bank in Europe, Asia, and the Americas; what is now U.S. Bank; and British, South African and Chinese Investec PLC. His specialties include investment banking, bond trading, and brokerage and asset management. Mr. George earned an MBA in international finance from Webster University in Europe and his bachelor’s degree in economics from King’s College. When he is not scouring Wall Street for ultra-high dividends, he serves as an adjunct professor and board member of Webster University's Walker School of Business and Technology. Neil will share some of his greatest tools and strategies for finding consistent yields in a challenging investment climate.
We’ve invited stem cell pioneer and BioTime Inc. CEO Dr. Mike West to make an encore performance in Vancouver. Dr. West will share with us his recent developments in turning healthy adult skin cells back into their pluripotent state… allowing us to grow healthy bone and tissue outside the body. Listen closely to Mr. West and you’ll find investment possibilities promising to be both mind-blowing and full of opportunity. This is the type of innovation and creatively destructive technology that will alter the course of not only science, but investing and even life as we know it. Learn how at this year’s Symposium.
CEO and director of equity research at Fusion IQ and Internet blogging sensation Barry Ritholtz has become a Vancouver favorite over the past few years. Barry offers pragmatic, quantitative, and logical ideas toward investing that you will be able to utilize in your own investment strategies. We’ve even talked him into sitting in on the Whiskey Bar panel discussion for one more “round.”
As chairman of Sprott Asset Management, Rick Rule leads a highly skilled team of earth science and finance professionals who enjoy a worldwide reputation for resource investment management. With nearly 40 years of experience in this business, Rick is one of the hardest-working guys at the Symposium. From his now famous “Dawn Patrol” early-morning Symposium sessions to his “Virtual Expo Tour” and standing-room-only general session and breakout sessions, he moves at one speed… lightning fast.
Rick has dedicated his entire adult life to many aspects of natural resource securities investing. In addition to the knowledge and experience gained in a long, successful, and focused career, he has a worldwide network of contacts in the natural resource and finance worlds. Rick is a legendary natural resource investor with an eagle eye for small, undervalued companies with proven management teams that have massive breakout potential. He’s one of the very best, a virtual encyclopedia of knowledge… and he’s willing to share it. You can’t afford to miss Rick.
We’ve also invited…
- Legendary Canadian resource investor and CEO/CIO of Sprott Asset Management Eric Sprot.
- Gold and precious metals investment guru John Embry.
Then of course, there’s… founder of Casey Research and best-selling author Doug Casey. Doug’s equal-opportunity-offending, take-no-prisoners presentations are always entertaining and educational and usually very controversial. You may love him… hate him… or maybe both. In fact, we never know exactly what he is going to say or do onstage, but Doug is not to be missed.
The Agora Financial Investment Symposium is typically the ONLY event Agora Inc. president and founder Bill Bonner speaks at annually… this year, he’ll share his renewed insights on global investing, politics, economics, history, and, if we are lucky, tales of adventure and misadventure in Argentina.
And many more to be announced shortly…
You’ll also hear from your favorite Agora Financial experts…
Though you wouldn’t know it by watching the evening news, there are companies right here in America making stunning, life-changing medical and high-tech discoveries that could make this country great again! Crowd favorite Patrick Cox will share the best of them with Symposium attendees.
In one of London’s swankiest hotels for a top-secret meeting with an oil industry insider… then hundreds of feet underground in an Alaskan gold mine lost for decades… now in Vancouver, boots-on-the-ground oil, gas, and natural resource investing expert Byron King will share the best opportunities he’s recently discovered around the world.
Last year, Chris Mayer had attendees rolling in the aisles with a comical, yet poignant talk on the economic incompetence of Washington, D.C. This year, he’s continued to travel the globe (six continents and counting) seeking profitable companies with undervalued assets that could represent the best investment opportunities. Some are close to home, some more exotic. Come to Vancouver to learn about Chris’ newest finds.
And after making his stellar debut as master of ceremonies a few years back, we welcome back Agora Financial’s managing editor of The Daily Reckoning… Eric Fry. His years of in-depth market research, multisector understanding, wry sense of humor, and dashing good looks make this flip-flop-wearing Californian the perfect choice to emcee this prestigious event. He’ll keep things moving along like a Swiss timepiece.
The annual Agora Financial Investment Symposium is — to my knowledge — the only conference in the world that brings these FOUR very unique components together in one place:
UNPARALLELED IDEAS: When you join us for the 14th annual Investment Symposium, you’re certain to learn about world-shifting ideas. Some call these “big ideas.” Others label them “Ah-ha!” moments. No matter what you call them, the ideas you’ll hear about from our world-class speakers will change your life
ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME MEET-AND-GREETS: The Symposium doesn’t end when the speakers step off the stage. To the contrary, some of your most profitable moments may happen “off-hours” during one of the many social activities we have planned. For example... at the spectacular Opening Night Gala — complete with Champagne, open bar, succulent tenderloin carved to your liking, and flowing fountains of chocolate — you’ll be able to discuss and debate unique, actionable investment possibilities with your fellow attendees. You’ll also rub elbows with some the Symposium speakers, making new business contacts along the way
A “SEAT” AT THE BOARDROOM TABLE: At the Symposium, you’ll also be able to meet with executives of the companies that we feel may represent some of the best investment opportunities available in these turbulent economic times. Feel free to grill them on their business... or ask them about their projections on the markets. No matter what you ask them, know this... the Symposium attracts the top brass. It’s the closest thing to being an insider without actually being one
THE FRESH AIR, STUNNING VIEWS, AND AMAZING FOOD OF VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA: Outside of the Symposium awaits an equally stimulating location featuring... snow-covered mountains set against stunning water views, amazing food discoveries, and some of the finest weather anyplace… the perfect setting for the most unique investment event of your lifetime.
Reserve your seat at this year’s Symposium before May 31, 2013, and you’ll not only enjoy these things… but you’ll also save hundreds of dollars off what other attendees will pay.
And as a benefit for registering early, you will enjoy the lowest admission price available: currently just US$899. But this discount expires on May 31, 2013.
If you are an Agora Financial Reserve Member, registration to the Symposium is FREE as a benefit of your membership. But seats are limited, so reserve yours now.
