CrisisPoint Trader is inspired by the work of the classic (and largely misunderstood) Dow Theorists, whose enduring ideas have roots going back over 100 years. We use these insights to help sift through the thousands of stocks and indexes in the market and, in particular, to determine the direction of primary and secondary trends. This system scans all the stocks and indexes on the major exchanges in the United States, searching for what we call "crisis points."
The word "crisis" originally meant a turning point for better or worse, usually associated with fevers or disease. This word is used in its fuller historical context within our CrisisPoint system. Therefore, crisis points can be bullish or bearish, as the case may be. Price and volume parameters are used to narrow down the large field of stocks to find those few "crisis points."
Chris Mayer uses a scanning engine that essentially takes the daily price and volume data and compares that to the prices and volumes that have existed over the last 50 days.
It's a stringent, three-pronged stock-picking system.
That is, there are three distinct ways to use this system to confirm almost ANY trend on the stock market. And because we're talking options trades, that means you can make money when stocks are going up
when they're going down
and usually in a very short period of time.
The way the system works is by using the following three signals:
- We determine the primary and/or secondary trend, and then we look for opportunities that are in line with that view-the idea is that we want to move with the currents of the market
- We use moving average crossovers to search for bullish or bearish trends
When the stock price or index crosses through its moving average and moves higher on higher than normal volume, it's a signal that the stock might take off. BUT if the stock dips below its moving average, it's a hint that the stock may fall
- We look for confirmation in the trading volume for the stock or index.
CrisisPoint Trader is an options trading service, and we aim to provide at least two "crisis point" trades per month, as well as keep you abreast of what is happening in the financial markets.
