BALTIMORE, MD (October 6, 2009) – With Western economies awash in debt, recession and political turmoil, American investors are actively seeking investment alternatives in an effort to diversify away from potential financial calamity.  In an effort to educate investors across the globe, two leading economic forecasting firms are joining forces to identify those investment opportunities.

Addison Wiggin, executive publisher of Agora Financial, LLC, a fiercely independent macroeconomic forecasting and financial research firm in Baltimore, MD, will arrive in Mumbai, India this week to formulize the terms of a research partnership with India-based Equitymaster.

“Agora Financial maintains a cautiously optimistic approach to the U.S., Japan and European economies while seeking aggressive opportunities in BRIC economies, which are both rich in natural resources and rapidly developing their own domestic consumer economies,” says Wiggin.  The BRIC economies (Brazil, Russia, India and China) are the world’s fastest-growing developing economies.

“Our partnership with Equitymaster provides Agora Financial with ‘go teams’ that have boots on the ground in each of these emerging economies.  We expect this partnership will afford our hundreds of thousands of subscribers with solid opportunities for investment gains over the foreseeable future,” added Wiggin.

Agora Financial projects that these emerging economies will rebound with greater force and speed than any in the world. The Sensex (the Bombay Stock Exchange Sensitive Index) alone has doubled in value since its lows in March 2009.

“With a history of researching Indian companies for nearly 25 years and investing in global and emerging markets for over seven years, the founders of Equitymaster, and our contacts in BRIC are uniquely positioned to provide investors with an on-the-ground view of the investing landscape,” said Ajit Dayal, founder of Equitymaster.  “Along with Agora Financial, we are uniquely positioned to recommend stocks that can be global winners in their industry over the next decade.”

According to Dayal, while there is significant hype surrounding BRIC, and many question the validity of connecting four geographically, socially, politically, and economically different countries, the fact remains that what happens in these economies will impact investors globally.  In fact, Agora Financial and Equitymaster have already launched a new BRIC investment service on October 3 to give investors an inside track on investing within these economies.
