Silver Eagle Coins Have Second Highest Sales Ever

The U.S. Mint sales of American Eagle silver coins were the second highest ever in January, reports Kitco.com. The Mint sold 6,107,000 this January which is only 315,000 less than the previous record which happened in January of last year, as sales tend to spike with the issuing of each year’s newly minted coins. “Silver is still more affordable than gold,” analyst David Morgan notes. “People are coming into the market for all kinds of reasons, although primarily wealth preservation and wealth protection and capital appreciation.”
